April 2006 I chose hunting dress to show the forthright personality of Julia from The Grand Duke (Gilbert and Sullivan.) I was originally going to make it period correct, then theatrical and then finally settled on a design that was a mix of 18thC, 19thC and modernly theatrical. Green cotton velvet Juste and shot yellow-blue skirt fully kilted with rows of holding stitches. Tricorn adapted from a green felt hat with a bundle of green ostrich plumes in one corner.
