I am redoing this costume, it was always my intention to make the costume properly, but it took time to gather enough materials to actually make it.
I have collected several Indian outfits over the years one of which was an ensemble of skirt, jacket and three scarves. I will be using the skirt and one scarf for the main skirt layer as it is a lovely shot green and black fabric. The gold fringe from one scarf was already used on the first test of the apron and will be used again in conjunction with some tassled fring from another scarf set.
The shape of the skirt and the decorations will be influenced by the Australian and German skirts as well as a few changes to make it more personal. There will be much use of the same bugle beads as in the bodice to make the skirt glitter as much as it does.

This costume was quickly made for a costume party. I was happy with the basic shape but simply did not have the time to do even the simple decorations I have intended which would have been based on the original costume for Carlotta.
