 Feb 2006 This started life inspired by English surcoats of the very early years of Elizabeth I's reign and the time of Lady jane Grey. However as I was researching further into dress of the region of Cleves it became another garment in my wardrobe of that place. The velveteen is overdyed from green and is lined in acrylic fur. I also tried to make the robes as adaptable as possible, thus the photos showing the fronts pinned at various places to acheive distinct looks. This is a very warm and comfortable garment.
