 January 2004 This gown was based on two portraits of probably different women in the same gown and of figures that appear in tapestries and one in a Cranach religious painting. I used a set of four large curtains in yellow cotton with a fine raised trellis pattern of floating warp threads and a set of cotton percale sheets for the lining. I was fortunate to have hair wispy enough at this time to recreate a hairstyle also seen in tapestries and sketches/woodcuts.
